From Rejected Intern to CEO OF A multi-million euro SaaS business
Do you know the saying: ‘Persistence pays off’?
I’ve always believed in that, and lived by it.
I was 16 when I built my very first website. It was for a local dry cleaner, and while it wasn’t much to look at, the fact that I could create something online that actually helped someone’s business… that was magic to me.
It sparked something. That spark turned into an obsession with online marketing. I wanted to learn it all: how to attract visitors, convert them, automate sales, scale it.
That’s when I discovered IMU, the Internet Marketing University. I was immediately drawn to the way they taught online marketing — practical, honest, strategic.
I applied for an internship four times.And got rejected… four times.
Every time, the answer was the same: “Thanks, but we’re not looking for interns right now.” And every time, I came back a little more prepared and a little more determined.
In 2014, I saw a new job opening at IMU for a support position.
I applied, got the job, and jumped in with both feet.
Answering tickets, helping clients, learning everything behind the scenes.
Within six months, I was managing the back office.
And in 2015, when the company hit a tough period, I stepped up — not because I had to, but because I believed in what we were building.
Then in 2017, Tonny Loorbach (founder of IMU) offered me something I’ll never forget:
